FINALLY!!!!!!  After  very long boat trip, we are in Tasmania!!!  Boarding the Spirit ended up being much easier than I thought it would be.  Even though it was dark, rainy and cold, we managed to get to the port with ease and we just drove straight onto the dock, got inspected (very briefly), then on we went.  And, we were one of the first ones off at the other end!!!

We stayed in Devonport for a few days then moved onto one of the many National Parks.  Unfortunately, we both came down with colds, so we moved to Launceston to recuperate.

We are now well enough to get out and be tourists, so, looking forward to exploring the area and taking lots of photos.

Not a bad way to sail...

We have found a nice showground at Sale and we are spending a few weeks here waiting for the big boat trip.  Sale is quite a nice town, lovely botanic gardens, nice people, shops (YAY!!!) and a bit of history.  It is Victoria's first inland port and it has one of the oldest operating swing bridges.  The center of the bridge rotates to allow larger vessels to pass through.  Pretty amazing.

We did a drive out to 90 mile beach, and well, it is a beach that is 90 miles long.......  Lots of lakes around, pity it is to cold to fish!!

Next post will be from TASMANIA!!!!
