We spent a few weeks in Gladstone, got to see a dog show over one weekend. Boy, dog showers are a breed unto themselves. Some were nice and explained the whole process to us. Got to see some cute puppies!!!!

Next was Barcaldine, then Longreach.  We went to the Stockman's Hall of Fame this time and it was really good. Very interesting displays, and a great show. It was really hot in Longreach, and then two days later we were in Winton wearing winter clothes! Winton, where it 'never rains', rained for three days!!! It put a dampener (no pun intended) on our visit to the dinosaur museum and the drive out to the 'stampede' was interesting. Dirt road in parts after rain - my favourite!!!! Still, it was worth a look.

After being told the roads were flooded between Winton and Cloncurry, we decided to head off and see how far we could get.  We got to McKinlay and stayed out the back of the Walkabout Creek Hotel (Crocodile Dundee fame) and we are now in Cloncurry. Really nice to see water lying around and everything is much greener than we anticipated. Next stop - Mt Isa
