We made our way to and spent a few weeks at Winfield (Baffle Creek) doing some fishing.  Caught a few fish and a few crabs and ended up next door to a couple we meet way back at Miara.  Had a great time sharing nightly fires, good conversations and quite a few laughs.  Thanks Mary and Bryan, it was a really enjoyable time.

We are now spending time in all the little towns in the west.  Mornings are a bit chilly, but most days have been quite nice.

There are some amazing hidden treasures in these places.  One was a hand carved train tunnel through the mountains near Gin Gin which you are now able to drive through.  Mind you, I had to get out and open and close about 50 (3) cattle gates to get there!!!  We also stayed at Cracow, which is an old gold mining town.  Some mining is still done, but the town is just a ghost town now.  Really pretty though, on top of a plateau with amazing views.

Isla Gorge near Theodore is really spectacular.  Just a short walk from the car park to some amazing views.  We also did a dirt road trip through to 'Cracow Beach' along Isla Delusional Rd.  Named appropriately!!!!  'Beach' is also a bit delusional.  It is just a sandy area on the banks of the Dawson River.  Surprisingly there were lots of palm trees out in the middle of the bush.

Good old Virgin Rock.  Surprisingly unchanged in the few years since we were there!

We gave Glenlyon Dam a miss this time - no water and no fishermen at the caravan park!!!!

We headed off to Texas where we toured the old rabbit 'processing' site.  Hard to imagine the number of truck loads of rabbits being caught and processed.  Not much went to waste!!  The free camp at Texas was much improved on the last time we stopped there.  Really nice place to stop a while.

Goondiwindi hasn't changed much - nice town though.  Same with Roma. The weather is a bit cool at night, but the days have been lovely.

We are currently at Rubyvale having a go at making our fortune in Sapphires.  Got a few good ones again this time but I think the fortune days are long gone.  Meet up with some lovely people we met in Tasmania, so had a nice catch up as well.

We are finally back on the road after having the hail damage repaired.  We are now killing time waiting for our new car to be made........

At the moment we are border hopping between QLD and NSW.  Not wanting to go too far south in case the borders shut again, unlikely, but you never know.

Our first stop is Tenterfield.  Nice to see that the grass is green, the dams are full and the cows are fat.  Spent the last few days being tourists, and then we are heading to Glenlyon Dam to have another go at fishing.

Spending a bit of time at Miara.  Fishing and crabbing is pretty good, not to mention the relaxing atmosphere.

55cm Grunter caught today!!!
