Swan Hill is a very nice little town. We went to the Pioneer Village (you know how we like our old crap!!!) and we virtually had the place to ourselves. It is not quite as big as Sovereign Hill, and it is based on agriculture, not gold, but still it was pretty good. We got to see people making butter, (and then taste it with some fresh made damper), a ride in an old car and horse drawn carriage, saw lots of old (and big!!!) farming equipment. We even had a chat to a lady sitting by a fire spinning wool.
Mildura was also a nice town. It has one of the 15 locks on the Murray, and it was very interesting to see how they raise and lower the river to allow the boats through (3m drop). Mildura also had an historical area with houses and shearing sheds which was good to stroll through.
We are now heading south for a bit, stopping at little towns as there are a few that are RV friendly with some nice camp spots in their towns. The Silo Artwork is pretty amazing!!!!
