We spent a few days at Richmond (camp area set up by the Richmond RSL).  We got to see a few planes take off and land at the air base, enjoyed a fantastic buffet lunch at the RSL and walked through town looking at the lovely old buildings.

We then moved on to Lithgow and spent quite a few days at a fabulous free camp at Lake Wallace.  It was a beautiful spot and a real credit to the Lithgow City Council.  We spent some time exploring Lithgow, Katoomba and the Blue Mountains.  What stunning scenery.  AND - a lolly shop with over 1,000 varieties of lollies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are now heading off to Goulboun and then making our way to my uncle's place at Kangaroo Valley.  It is starting to get a bit chilly!!!

We have been busy!!!!  We stayed at a free camp at Bulahdelah beside the river - beautiful spot  Then went up to Forster/Tuncurry for a few days  That was just like being on the Gold Coast, so we went back to the free camp for a rest.  We then moved on to Maitland.  Beautiful old buildings and lots and lots of new homes being built.  It is amazing to see the new housing estates going up.  It was suburbia from Maitland to Cessnock!!!  After a few nights at Cessnock we then moved onto Morisset and lots of day trips to the beautiful Lake Macquarie.  Beautiful part of the world.

We stopped in to the 'Historical mining town' of Catherine Hill - about 50 old mining cottages on a headland - but - the cottages have been 'renovated' with huge extensions and when we tried to get to the headland we couldn't because the road was closed as they are busy making a huge new housing development - what a pity, such a quaint little town with a beautiful little beach - ruined.......

Whilst we were at Morisett (showgrounds) the local lads had a game of Rugby League, and then some locals had some remote controlled planes and they were showing some amazing maneuvers.  Great entertainment all round!!

We are now off to Gosford, and we have decided to give Sydney a miss this time so we will head inland until after the NSW school holidays.  Which reminds me - we stopped at a caravan park yesterday just to ask about prices - $90 a night for a caravan site!!!! (dropped to $57 if we didn't want power).  And they wonder why we are all embracing free camping!!!!!!!!!!!!
